Each year, the National Association of Foreign-Trade Zones (NAFTZ) works with our planning team to select a local charity in conjunction with our NAFTZ Annual Conference & Exposition. In accordance with our 2020 theme, “FTZs: Accelerating the Climb to Recovery,” we are partnering with Mile High United Way to support providing the essentials of life to those in need.

Mile High United Way will be overseeing distribution of funds to aid to local Denver Metro food-focused charities.

Basic needs services are vital to individuals experiencing chronic conditions, and for individuals and families who have experienced a temporary setback or who face emergency situations. When individuals are unable to meet their immediate needs, it becomes more difficult to focus on long-term goals such as employment, housing, or education. Your support enables Mile High United Way to invest dollars and resources into more than 20 agencies serving communities across the metro area, such as:

  • Metro Caring (Denver County) works to meet people's immediate food needs while addressing the root cause of hunger: poverty. They provide nutritious groceries to neighbors and offer comprehensive anti-hunger resources so that families can break the cycle of poverty.
  • Servicios de la Raza (Denver County) provides the Basic Emergency Services food pantry making sure families and individuals can focus on becoming or remaining stable and thriving. BES staff work to ensure the food pantry provides healthy food options for clients including non-perishables, frozen meats, and fresh vegetables and fruit.
  • We Don’t Waste (Denver County) is an innovative food provider for the hungry. They gather excess food from venues, caterers, restaurants and other local food purveyors, and redistribute these healthy items to underserved populations in Denver and across the Front Range. They maintain strong relationships with local community-based nonprofits, and work to augment their existing food needs. By gathering and redistributing excess food and placing it in the hands of the hungry, they promote a sustainable and resourceful environment directly benefiting those in need.

UPS Zone Solutions is generously covering transaction fees so 100% of your contributions go to support food security in Metro Denver.
