10am - 3pm
Join us for this fifth annual educational event full of information to jumpstart your spring gardening. This year's speaker is the nationally renowned senior curator of the Denver Botanic Garden, Panayoti Kelaidis. He will give two programs, the first entitled "Petite Gems for your Iowa Garden: alpines to spice up troughs, slopes, and borders." The second is "Nature Rocks! Using stones naturalistically to enhance garden spaces".
Panayoti Kelaidis is the recipient of numerous awards for his writing, speaking, curating, and plant introductions including the high honor of winning the Arthur Hoyt Scott Medal from Swarthmore College. Lauren Springer Ogden, the Arboretum's first Spring Fever Symposium speaker, says this about Panayoti "Among rock gardeners, he is considered one of the premier practitioners of the art and science of alpine gardening."
