Every Second Breath

A Documentary by Cynthia Abbott

The rush to create sustainable “green energy” solutions too often comes at the expense of the very habitats we’re trying to preserve. Ocean Soundscape explores the harmful and often deadly threats to marine life from noise pollution in the ocean. And the noise will only get louder. The impact to marine life of noise generated from the rapidly developing offshore wind turbines, increased freight travel, and deep-sea mining will be explored. Told through the eyes and work of an on-the-ground advocate, this film will examine the current and future state of our noisy ocean and what we can do to lower the volume.

The oceans are the lungs of our planet, producing more than half of the oxygen we breathe. Every Second Breath Project is a series of short films that enlighten viewers about our ocean in crisis and inspire them to become champions of change through the narratives of “extra-ordinary” people who chose to make a difference.
